I would also like to know how to step-by-step backtest this strategy. Is there an easy way to do it?

Thanks

Gene,
Looks like you are trying to paste the strategy into a study editor. The two are separate entities and must be pasted into the appropriate editor for TSO to recognize them properly.

For some reason, I get the following errors for the long entry:

Invalid statement: def at 33:1
Invalid statement: = at 34:36
No such variable: buySignal at 36:10
Wrong parameter type for addOrder:condition(expected double/got interface com.devexperts.tos.thinkscript.data.CoreApi) at 36:1
Incompatible parameter
calculateBar2: missing parameter

Any ideas?

A long entry and short entry make a complementary pair. An entry on the other side is also an exit.

The codes are for entries only? Don't you need to enter code for the exit?

Tom,
Vervoort designed the indicator for daily charts which is where I use it. I think it would be too laggy for daytrading. Any number of other indicators are more suited for daytrading. I personally like the Fisher Transform and CCI along with various indicators that show support and resistance levels.

Dear Eric,
Does Vervoort Crossover Strategy work with daytrading S&P E-mini?
Do you have to adjust the period (from 55 bar to XX?)
What is the optimum Chart period (i.e. 3 Min, 5Min, 15Min)?
What other studies/strategies are appropriate for Daytrading S&P E-mini?

I would say that the main advantage of the strategy in the fact that one strategy may combine more completely different studies. Of course, provided that you do not exaggerate in order to get signals. It is in fact a combination of study and determining the number of adjustable parameters with the greatest skill of creating good strategy as opposed to studies that are sufficient for themselves.
