In general, the indicators are just that - an indicator for your charts. Some indicators can be converted for use in scans provided they rely only on the more basic thinkScript functions. Simply cutting and pasting into the scan window will rarely work as the indicator must be converted for use in a scan. An indicator converted for use in a scan will simply return a 1 or 0 for all bars on the chart. The TOS scan will then put this binary signal into its search algorithm. I have never tried to convert any of the MTF indicators to a scan so I have no idea as to their adaptability in this regard.

Wow, this site is as impressive as it is usefull. hello, I have a question before purchasing. Could you please tell me if these indicators could be used as scan criteria in TOS? Particularly the multiple time frames....

please and thank you

As I replied to you earlier this week, take a look at the built in TOS study for StochasticCrossover. It is exactly what you are asking for.

Cool! I mean, give me a few days and I could probably hammer out a decent one, but I'd like to see your version. Also, I think your timestamp is a little messed up on your reply, I spent some time wondering if you were replying to me or if the page was playing tricks on me

I specifically went PRO just for this indicator, and as I look at it I can tell everyone here it is quite impressive. Noticed major turns in the market when this indicator all of a sudden starts flashing red or green. Anyway... I'm playing with the code and just wondering if anyone has scripted it to actually run on different 3 different time frames instead of just using a different K factor for the same time frame (example, stock is oversold according to a 14 period %K on a 15 minute, hour, and daily chart for swing trades). I'm not sure if it would give even better results, but it would be a few days before I could get it to work on mine.

Herb,
The ThinkDesktop software platform is free to download from thinkorswim. Download the software and poke around:

I'm new but I like what I see. How do I get thinkscript? I assuming this is a language that I need to learn. Where do I start?

Thanks,
Herb

Daniel,
Currently you cannot fire alerts from user defined studies.....we've all been waiting for that addition to thinkScript. Also be advised that overbought/oversold on all timeframes is not a signal in and of itself. You must use this in conjunction with other indicators/methods.

I'm curious to know if there's a way to set up an alert to be notified when the top decision line generates long and short signals. It would be more convenient than to constantly scan charts visually to see when either of those signals appear.
